  Suitable for E-Bikes

  For our E-Bike tire we fall back on over 100 years’ experience with moped and motorcycle tires. All of our city/trekking tires are rated to a standard speed of at least 25 km/h. Those tires marked e50 are also certified for S-Pedelecs. With their high quality structure, puncture protection is high and the rolling resistance is low offering protection from premature wear brought about by the additional driving force.

  The specialist tire for fast e-bikes and rental bikes

  For E-bikes, we have combined the SafetySystem Breaker with a highly elastic material. The result is an extremely puncture and cut resistant casing which, thanks to its high elasticity, gives especially low rolling resistance, saving battery power and the environment. The breaker also meets the demands of the higher speed e-bikes, of up to 50 km/h. The breaker is also adapted for the higher acceleration torque of e-bikes as well as the faster cornering speeds.   Know-how from motorcycle sport, specially adapted for bicycle racing to address the specific demands of front and rear wheels. Front: agile and direct. The narrower tire provides reduced air resistance and improved steering characteristics. Rear: comfortable and dampening. With its slightly broader contact surface the tire provides better traction. Thanks to the compound mix being optimised for rolling resistance, stiction is reduced. The result: a pioneering front and rear wheel tire system in which the tires have been painstakingly matched with one another.

  The benchmark in puncture protection

  Vectran™ is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran™ is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran™ is spun from the melted liquid polymer Vectra and processed further to a multi-strand thread. Spider silk like Vectran™ has an enormous tear resistance at a very low weight: Exactly the right properties to process into a premium Continental bicycle tire as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran™ Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than the comparable nylon breaker. Vectran™ Breaker does not adversely affect the rolling resistance.
