The Pursuer is the newest road clincher in the Maxxis line. Taking what we learned from the development of the HYPR Compound for our flagship High Road tire, the Pursuer uses an all-new full-silica rubber compound. This new compound decreases rolling resistance while improving tread wear and cornering performance. For logging trouble-free training miles and casual group rides, choose the Pursuer.

Know-how from motorcycle sport, specially adapted for bicycle racing to address the specific demands of front and rear wheels. Front: agile and direct. The narrower tire provides reduced air resistance and improved steering characteristics. Rear: comfortable and dampening. With its slightly broader contact surface the tire provides better traction. Thanks to the compound mix being optimised for rolling resistance, stiction is reduced. The result: a pioneering front and rear wheel tire system in which the tires have been painstakingly matched with one another.
Vectran
The benchmark in puncture protection
Vectran™ is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran™ is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran™ is spun from the melted liquid polymer Vectra and processed further to a multi-strand thread. Spider silk like Vectran™ has an enormous tear resistance at a very low weight: Exactly the right properties to process into a premium Continental bicycle tire as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran™ Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than the comparable nylon breaker. Vectran™ Breaker does not adversely affect the rolling resistance.
